Shaniwarwada is one of the most famous tourist places in Pune located in the heart of the city. It has a rich history and a lot of haunted stories are attached to the Palace too. It was built by the Peshwas(rulers) and many generations of Peshwas lived there. But during the era of British Rule, it was captured by the East India Company. During the British reign, it caught fire, and the whole Palace was turned to ashes and only the Ground floor survived destroying all the above seven floors. Now Shaniwarwada is under the Indian Government, which maintains it as a tourist place.
